The Moths Depend brief information to caterpillars contains many vibrant pictures and is very useful for determining the varieties you are most likely to come across. (Please bear in mind that the flyer is a huge computer file and so may take a while to obtain.)

If you cannot recognize a caterpillar then you may be able to filter the choices centered on the place on which it is providing. The Foodplant Record for the Caterpillars of The british Seeing stars and Bigger Moths by Tim Crafer (2005) is very beneficial for this.
Failing that, the ultimate choice to consider is raising the caterpillar through to the mature level and then determining the moth that comes out.
